Harry Potter Withdrawls...

I find myself going through severe J.K. Rowling withdrawls. This happens sometimes if it's been a while since a new book or movie came out. (Except then I watch a movie and have to go read one of the books because it's just NOT THE SAME.) Only this time, it's WAYYYY worse.

Why is it worse, you might be asking? Well, I will tell you; it's worse because THERE'S NO MORE BOOKS TO WRITE!!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! **insert unintelligable choking noise here**

My mother's girlfriend gave me a copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in second grade. I started reading it the summer after, and I was hooked. I remember being upset because my dad wouldn't let me finish it until I read The Sorceror's Stone, so I read that one in about a week (pretty good for an eight-year-old). That summer led to a four-year-long, rabidly focused obsession. (Seriously, ask anyone who knew me in elementary school. It was completely and totally rediculous, but you couldn't tell me that: I would've bitten your head off.) In seventh grade, it died down a little bit...mostly.

Annnnyhoo, I had to get some of that out of my system...

Now, on the subject of whatever J.K. is going to write next...

I think that she should write it on one of Harry's and Ginny's children--maybe Albus. It seems to me that, what with all the work that she put into the wizarding world and Hogwarts, it would be a waste not to keep using it.

Lemme know what you think.

I have (sadly) not yet finished reading the series. I got stalled about halfway through Goblet of Fire and haven't gone back yet. I've enjoyed the deeper plotlines that have been forming. I wasn't a huge fan of the latest movie/story (Half-Blood Prince). It was alright and moderately interesting...but it felt like it stretched out 15 minutes worth of story into 2 hours worth of movie.

I agree that the Potter/Hogwarts world is very in-depth and vivid and it would be a shame not to continue to expand (exploit) it.

However, I'm actually hoping Rowling sticks to her guns and stays away for at least a couple of novels to show her writing prowess elsewhere and help bring another world and/or character to life.

Oh...and never tickle that sleeping dragon.

I belive that Rowling should do a novel on the life of the great wizards, more like a backround story on why they are, what they are. Examples would be Dumbledor's history, or even the mysterious Profesor Snape.

In my opinion, it sometime's isn't the best struggling to come out with something new, but to go back and show the history on why the plot ended up on the path it is. And, personally, I would love to see all the teacher's history, including Hagrid's, for how hogwarts was created, and how the great wizard Dumbledor became the great wizard he is!
